How to Keep Your Feet Looking Soft and Healthy

If you are healthy, it is generally best to treat calluses and corns only if they create pain

However, for many people, just getting rid of the source of friction on your feet usually removes corns. If you have poor circulation to your toes, you are more prone to complications from calluses and corns. There are several options available, however, so the issue of getting rid of your calluses or corns should not deter you from going out and getting a good night's sleep.

Simple things like a foot moisturizer can be very effective in treating calluses and corns. Most products contain a base of petroleum jelly or some kind of similar lubricant. This reduces friction and helps make sure that your skin is well protected. This also can help to protect your skin from sun damage as well. It can be quite easy to get away with using petroleum jelly as a moisturizer, though it might be a good idea to look for something that doesn't contain petroleum jelly. Natural plant oils and butters are typically recommended.

For those who have sweaty feet dry on the soles, use talcum powder or other absorbent material to keep your feet clean. When you go barefoot, your feet are much more likely to catch a lot of dirt, so this is an important precaution. You can buy absorbent pads that you can lay in the bottom of a purse or pocket. Just make sure to use talcum powder on the underside of your pads so you don't accidentally put your dirty feet into the pad and cause your feet to catch dirt.

If you take care of your feet and keep them clean on a regular basis, you should see less of them coming out on your clothes or on your furniture. Sometimes, it is easier to get rid of the calluses and other signs of aging by simply washing your feet more often than you would otherwise. In addition, by changing your shoes regularly you can also encourage the skin on your feet to breathe. This helps to keep the moisture flowing and prevent the skin from drying out.

Many people find that it is not only uncomfortable to sleep with their feet dry on the soles, but they can even be painful. In addition, if you wear tight shoes you can also irritate the skin. The problem can become worse if you wear shoes with open seams. When you wear a sock instead of socks you regular pair of shoes, the skin gets more air circulation which helps to keep your skin moisturized.

In addition, if you don't wear shoes and you often wake up with wet feet, try wearing socks over them to keep the moisture in your feet and reduce the risk of the moisture trickling down onto your furniture or bed. You can also invest in a special shoe pail that you can place under your bed which keeps the moisture off the floor.

If you are prone to blisters and you have a blister outbreak, it is very possible that the blister will re-occur after you have cleaned, dried, and dried again and this time you will be looking at having to buy a new pair of shoes. However, many times the blisters heal themselves as long as you keep your feet clean and keep applying a foot protection cream. Using a foot cream or even a foot protection cream with witch hazel or petroleum jelly, you can treat them effectively.

Many people are reluctant to clean their feet because they don't like to take the hassle of scrubbing. For these people, it may be helpful to buy a moisturizing foot cream that contains salicylic acid. This ingredient will help to eliminate the symptoms associated with dry feet and help to keep the skin on your feet soft and moisturized so that it won't be uncomfortable and it will help prevent the blistering and redness that often occur.
